Open Access College Leaders in distance and online schooling services

Sarah Carrick in her own words

After getting chronic fatigue in 2008 I started doing my SACE through Open Access College.

Sarah Carrick at Lifepoint Cafe

It allowed me to continue my schooling despite my sickness and gave me a chance to recover. They were very understanding when it came to my health issues and the subject counsellor Darren Jones was extremely thorough, informative and helpful.

I have fully recovered now and I still do some of my classes through OAC because it allows me to work and study at the same time. Graeme Hudson, my health teacher has been very supportive;especially of my assignment to do with Lifepoint Cafe.

If I was doing school face to face I would probably still be dealing with health issues and there is no way I would have had the time to set up Lifepoint Cafe for people in the community.

Next year I will be beginning my studies in the sector of mental health and I feel like the independence and responsibility of studying through OAC has better prepared me for tertiary studies. Open Access College has definitely expanded my opportunities.
