Who is this course for?
Students who enjoy investigating all the different aspects of food technology and working with different recipes. Students will also have the opportunity to design and create a fabric based product.
What will I learn?
- investigate food preparation techniques used in different cultures including those from the Asia region and the impact of these on nutrient retention, aesthetics and palatability.
- plan and make nutritious dishes, using safe and hygenic food preparation, and a range equipment and techniques
- design and make a fibre based product.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment will be based on achievement standards and will consider:
- food & material design and product realisation - (2 x practicals)
- A folio of theory tasks
