As part of our Reconciliation Action Plan, we have renamed our buildings in the Kaurna language to honour the Traditional Custodians of the land. Each name reflects the purpose and spirit of the activities that take place in these spaces, fostering a sense of belonging and respect for all.
Our building names have been created with the deep knowledge and experience of Kaurna Elder Uncle Mickey O’Brien. The symbols designed by Tracey Bradshaw bring meaning to the function of each building with their Kaurna name.
On Monday 11 August, Open Access College held ‘Midla Kuu’ (meaning "launch" in Kaurna), marking the commencement of the new Kaurna Building Names.
