Assessment and Reporting

At Open Access College, we believe assessment and feedback is integral to all teaching and learning. It is central to the achievement of learning goals and guiding further learning.

Open Access College recognises the importance of formative assessment in supporting student learning with a focus on the process as well as the product.

The assessment component in the school’s curriculum can itself be subdivided into three closely related areas.

  • Assessing – how we discover what the students know and have learned
  • Recording – how we choose to collect and analyse data
  • Reporting – how we choose to communicate information

Open Access College provides ongoing information about student learning through the parent portal (DAYMAP).

Teachers record in DAYMAP assessed student work, comments on student progress, indicators of learning as well as progress reports. Connect to the parent portal here.

Information about how to access the portal is available on the Help Desk page.
