Assessment and Reporting

At Open Access College, assessment and feedback is integral to teaching and learning. It is central to the achievement of learning goals and guides our teaching.

Open Access College recognises the importance of formative assessment in supporting student learning with a focus on the process of learning as well as the product.

The assessment component in the school’s curriculum can itself be subdivided into three closely related areas.

  • Assessing – how we discover what the students know and have learned
  • Recording – how we choose to collect and analyse data
  • Reporting – how we choose to communicate information

Open Access College provides ongoing information about student learning through the parent portal (DAYMAP).

There is information in DAYMAP about assessed student work, comments on student progress, indicators of learning as well as progress reports. Connect to the parent portal here.

Information about how to access the portal is available on the Help Desk page.
