Yara Kuu

Pronunciation:

/Yah-rah Koo/

(Similar to “Yarra” – as in Yarra River, “Yah” – like ya in ‘yarn’, “rah” – like ‘hurrah’, with a soft or rolled ‘r’, “Koo” – rhymes with ‘zoo’, like a gentle dove sound ‘coo’)

Mutual Respect and Care

Yara, signifying mutual respect, benefit, and reciprocity, reflects the care and support provided by Student Services to every member of the school community. Often our students’ first connection with Open Access College, we strive to foster an environment where all of our students feel welcome.

The symbol represents mutual respect, shared benefit, and reciprocity. The center forms a yarning circle, where people come together to discuss. The hands signify ongoing support and respect, while the outer ring reminds us that what comes around goes around.
