Book Week 2026 – A Symphony of Stories

OAC Website T1 T2 6

Our Book Week celebrations brought the theme “Symphony of Stories” to life, filling the library with creativity, imagination and plenty of opportunities to celebrate our love of reading!

A highlight of the week was welcoming visiting author and graphic artist Georgina Chadderton, who inspired students through an engaging manga and illustration workshop as part of our Term 3 Wellbeing Day. Students had the opportunity to explore character creation, storytelling and the creative process behind graphic art.

There were plenty of ways for everyone to get involved, with four competitions running throughout the celebrations. Students tested their literary knowledge in our online Book Week Quiz, showed off their creativity and love of books in the Book Week Dress-Up Competition, captured beautiful dawn & dusk images in our Photographic Competition, and put their writing skills to the test with the wonderfully quirky “Dear Broccoli” Writing Competition.

The library itself was transformed to reflect our theme, with recycled records, musical instruments and music-inspired decorations creating a unique “symphony” of stories throughout the space. The decorations helped turn the library into a vibrant celebration of books, creativity and imagination.
