Creative Arts is for curious and creative students who want to explore an area they’re passionate about and take their skills further. You’ll have the freedom to follow your interests, experiment with new ideas and develop your own creative direction.
Whether you’re into Visual Art, Music, Drama, Dance, Media or Live Performance, you can choose a pathway that excites you and build the skills that matter to you.

You’ll learn through making, experimenting, practising and exploring. You’ll develop your creative skills while discovering how ideas grow from an initial spark into a finished creative product. Along the way, you’ll explore different skills, techniques, materials, processes and technologies, while learning how to plan, develop, refine and present your work.
Teacher guidance will support you, but you’ll have plenty of opportunities to make choices, follow your ideas and take your learning in a direction that interests you.
1. Folio & Creative Product — 50%
You will explore, experiment and create one creative product. Your folio will capture your journey from initial ideas and experimentation through to making and refining your finished work.
2. Written Investigation — 25%
You will discover and be inspired by a creative practitioner connected to your chosen area. You’ll investigate their background, ideas, creative practice, techniques and selected works, and consider how their journey connects to your own. This will be in the form of a 1000-word investigation.
3. Practical Skills Folio — 25%
You will build your creative toolkit by experimenting with skills, techniques, materials, processes and technologies that interest you. Your folio will show your practice, reflection, improvement and growing confidence.
