In stage 1 Creative Arts students work independently on the development of individual products under the guidance of their teacher. Students negotiate both practical and research based assignments based on an art area of interest.
Students in Creative Arts may undertake an arts, craft or design focus. Assessment tasks are designed to enable some student choice in conjunction with teacher directed learning. Students are required to work as independent artists, craftspeople or designers negotiating their arts pathway with their teacher.
Success in this subject requires individual initiative and dedication. Students may choose from the following pathways
Visual Art –
Individual Pathway – students who have an interest in a particular field outside of school e.g. dance, music may create their own individual pathway but require a industry mentor from their chosen field if outside of Digital or Visual Art.
The Creative Arts Process is a central topic for this course which students develop an understanding of through the development of their own artworks.
Assessment Type 1: Product
Students develop and present one creative arts product
Assessment Type 2: Folio
Students undertake one inquiry and one skills assessment for the folio.
