Who is this course for?

Students who are interested in learning programming or who are interested in developing their programming skills. Programming is a challenging topic, and it is not for everyone. Students should come in with ideally an interest in learning programming or at least competence shown in Digital Technology A.

What will I learn

Students will learn how to code basic computer programs and develop their skills into advanced programming structures.

There are two topics for Digital Technology B.

  1. Programming will allow students to use computational thinking skills and strategies to understand problems and explore possible solutions.
  2. Advanced Programming will allow students to extend their use of computational thinking skills and strategies to understand a range of problems, and explore and code possible solutions.

How will I be assessed?

The following assessment types enable you to demonstrate your learning in Stage 1 Digital Technologies:

Assessment Type 1: Project Skills 60%

  • at least two project skills tasks

Assessment Type 2: Digital Solution 40%

  • at least one digital solution
