NAIDOC Week 2025 – Celebrating Strength, Vision and Legacy

NAIDOC 2025

Each year in the first week of July, communities across Australia celebrate NAIDOC Week—a time to recognise and honour the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It’s also a valuable opportunity for our school community to learn more about First Nations histories and cultures, and to take part in celebrations of the world’s oldest continuing cultures.

This year marks a significant milestone—50 years of NAIDOC Week. What began as a movement for recognition and rights has grown into a powerful national celebration of resilience, culture, and leadership. In 2025, the NAIDOC Week theme “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision and Legacy” encourages all Australians to reflect on the past while looking forward with hope and determination. It highlights the strength of young leaders, the wisdom of Elders, and the shared commitment to a future built on unity, respect, and self-determination.

As a school, we’re proud to acknowledge this important occasion and encourage our students, families, and staff to engage in local events, conversations, and learning opportunities that honour and elevate First Nations voices.
