Year 7 to High School: Transitional arrangements for regional communities
Posted on November 27, 2019
Earlier this year you may have attended one of 22 sessions held across regional South Australia, to gather community feedback about how the year 7 to high school move will work for country schools.
The Government has now considered all feedback received and has decided that for eligible primary schools, all year 7s will go to high school or area school in 2022, unless special circumstances exist. In this situation, you can ask your Principal to allow your child to stay (this will be called a ‘by exception’ exemption).
This option will be available for the transition period 2022-2024, and is only available to families at primary schools more than 20km from the local area or high school, which includes this school.
For more information about how this will work, and the other supports being given to country primary schools, you can go to https://www.education.sa.gov.au/7tohs
