Who is this course for?

Creative Arts is for students who wish to refine their skills and knowledge in an area of art they are passionate about. It is for students who are seeking to independently hone their skills as an artist.

What will I learn?

Students in Creative Arts undertake a Visual Arts or Performing Arts and Media focus. Assessment tasks are designed to enable student choice in conjunction with teacher directed learning. Students learn to synthesise aspects of various arts disciplines and actively participate in the development and presentation of creative arts products.

Students may choose from the following pathways; however, this list is neither prescriptive nor exhaustive:

Visual Art

  • Mixed Media
  • Digital Image Manipulation

Performing Arts and Media

  • Music
  • Drama
  • Live Performance Production
  • Media
  • Dance

The Creative Arts Process is a central topic for this course which students develop an understanding of through the development of their own artworks.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment Type 1: Product

Students develop and present one creative arts product

Assessment Type 2: Folio

Students undertake one inquiry and one skills assessment for the folio.
