Who is this course for?
This course is for students who are interested in photography, food styling and creative design and want to discover how to make food look amazing through images!
What will I learn?
You will:
- Explore photography basics — learn how lighting, composition, camera angles and techniques can transform your photos.
- Get creative with food styling — experiment with colour, arrangement, texture and presentation to make food look appealing and eye-catching.
- Explore digital editing and design — discover how digital tools can enhance your images and help you create professional-looking designs.
- Think like a designer — consider ethical issues around photo editing, digital manipulation and creating images for food publications.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment will be based on the Australian Curriculum: Design and Technologies Achievement Standard.
You will:
- Design and create a simple light box, then experiment with lighting, composition, arrangements and camera angles.
- Create a design folio that captures your food styling experiments and shows how your ideas develop from a design brief through to a finished publication.
- Create food photography and design a digital two-page spread for a food publication, bringing your photography, styling and design skills together.
