Who is this course for?

This course is for students interested in learning and understanding about their world and French-speaking communities. Successful learning (C Grade or above) at Year 8 is preferred. Enrolment with no prior learning is to be negotiated with an OAC Languages Leader.

What will I learn?

• Use French to communicate in a range of settings and for a variety of purposes
• Create texts using appropriate nouns, verbs and adjectives
• Ask and respond to familiar questions
• Make comparisons and share opinions
• Identify language features and the importance of pronunciation
• Understand that language and culture influence each other and shape identity

How will I be assessed?

You will undertake a range of reading, writing, listening, speaking and reflective tasks. These tasks provide an opportunity to show your knowledge and understanding of language and culture.
