Who is this course for?

Are you passionate about expressing yourself through art? The Year 10 Art Extension course is designed for students who love art and are eager to challenge themselves. This elective is for those looking to explore a range of artists, art movements, techniques and concepts in a supportive setting. If you’re thinking about choosing Visual Art as a SACE subject in the future, this is your pathway! You'll become familiar with experimentation, documentation and assessment structure to help you succeed in SACE Visual Art.

What will I learn?

  • A range of traditional or digital artmaking skills and techniques
  • Experimentation, reflection and documentation of process
  • Appropriation of other artists works and styles
  • Analysis of a range of artworks

How will I be assessed?

Assessment will be based on the Australian Curriculum and the South Australian achievement standard.

Students will be assessed through:

  • Weekly experiments and tasks presented in a Visual study
  • A major artwork and folio showing research, experimentation, planning and process.
